Hello everyone!
I'm Nawaal, and I'm passionate about bringing creativity to life.
A little about me: I grew up in rural Alberta in Treaty 6 Territory and am proudly of Ethiopian and first-generation Canadian heritage. I'm deeply connected to the community and have called amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Edmonton) my home for the past 2.5 years.
I recently earned my Bachelor of Design with a major in Digital Experience Design from MacEwan University, with my graduation set for Fall 2024. Currently, I serve as a communications assistant at IslamicFamily, where I handle all graphic design needs.
During my studies at MacEwan University, I specialized in speculative design for emerging technologies like AR, video game development, and front-end development. My design philosophy is grounded in human-centred design principles, accessibility, inclusivity, and innovation.
Beyond design, I indulge in various hobbies such as BMX racing, woodworking, honing my skills in Procreate for drawing, exploring the great outdoors through hiking, and creating LEGO timelapse videos for my YouTube channel.
